Children Residents Homestay House Container

Admin September 15, 2026

It is feasible for children to live in container houses used as homestays, but factors such as safety, compliance, and living comfort need to be comprehensively considered.

Safety Aspects

  • Fire Hazards: To save costs, some container houses use flammable materials such as polystyrene and polyurethane foam as core materials. These materials have poor fire safety performance. Sparks from electrical welding and cigarette butts can easily ignite them, and they burn rapidly, making firefighting difficult and trapping occupants. Therefore, container houses made of materials such as rock wool boards and fireproof cotton that meet or exceed Class A fire resistance ratings should be selected to comply with fire safety requirements.
  • Structural Safety: It is essential to ensure that the main structure of the container house adopts a qualified steel frame and enclosure panel system. Most of the processes for wall panels, doors, windows, insulation layers, and electrical and water pre-installation should be completed in the factory to ensure structural stability. Additionally, during use, open-flame operations near the house should be avoided. Electrical wires and cables should be protected with sleeves, and socket and switch boxes should be made of metal galvanized boxes and installed openly. Simple firefighting equipment should be provided both inside and outside the house.

Compliance Aspect

  • Land Nature: Collective construction land, tourism development land, and land for temporary supporting facilities in scenic spots are the main options for placing container homestays. Since container houses are not permanent buildings, they generally do not require traditional building approval procedures in most areas, but they must still comply with local regulations for temporary buildings. When reporting to the competent authorities, operators should provide materials such as structural safety inspection reports and fire performance descriptions.

Living Comfort Aspect

  • Internal Space: The internal space of container houses is functionally divided and can accommodate conventional living units such as bedrooms, bathrooms, and living rooms. Some products also feature multi-layer composite insulation layers, with sound insulation performance following residential design standards. The interiors are equipped with ventilation and insulation systems, providing a relatively comfortable living environment.
  • Applicable Scenarios: Compared with traditional brick-and-mortar buildings, container houses are lighter in weight and have lower requirements for foundation bearing capacity. They are suitable for ecologically sensitive areas such as mountains, forests, and lakesides where excessive ground hardening is not desired, offering occupants a unique experience.
