Cement Prefabricated House Roof Treatment

Admin September 18, 2026

The treatment of the roof of a cement prefabricated house mainly includes three aspects: reinforcement, ceiling renovation, and crack repair. The specific treatment methods are as follows:

Reinforcement Treatment

If the prefabricated panels are pulled apart or damaged, they need to be refilled with cement mortar and the steel bars thickened to enhance structural stability. When the roof moves, it can be fixed by using iron pipes for support or adding brick piers. For brick-wood structured houses, "clinch nails" can be used to strengthen the connection between the wooden roof trusses and purlins, and pads can be used to strengthen the connection between the gable walls and purlins. Diagonal braces can be added between wooden columns for reinforcement. If the roof is tilted, it needs to be straightened. For rotted or split wooden roof trusses, additional auxiliary beams and columns should be added to distribute the load and prevent further structural damage.

Ceiling Renovation

Prefabricated panels are hollow structures with many joints between them and a thin protective layer of steel bars at the bottom of the panels. Directly driving expansion bolts can easily damage the structure. At the same time, the load-bearing capacity of prefabricated panels is limited, with a maximum load of no more than 80 kilograms per square meter, so the self-weight of the ceiling needs to be strictly controlled. It is recommended to use a combination of light steel keels and moisture-proof gypsum boards: Light steel keels are lightweight, and the self-weight of the entire ceiling is about 8 kilograms per square meter, which is far below the load limit. The surface of moisture-proof gypsum boards has a waterproof coating, which can withstand a slightly humid environment. Before construction, floating dust should be cleaned, and an interface agent should be rolled on to enhance adhesion. Cracks between panel joints should be filled and alkali-resistant mesh fabric should be pasted. When installing the keels, first mark the positions with a chalk line, arrange the main keels and secondary keels, and fix them with full-thread suspension rods. Use a level during installation to repeatedly calibrate and ensure that the main keels are arched. For the installation of decorative panels, choose moisture-proof gypsum boards and fix them from the center to the surroundings. The panel joint treatment requires leaving gaps, filling with joint sealant, pasting joint tape and mesh fabric, and scraping water-resistant putty for leveling. To address roof leakage issues, a moisture-proof layer can be added inside the ceiling by laying a plastic film along the bottom of the prefabricated panels, sealing the joints with tape, and laying glass wool below the film.

Crack Repair

First, use a high-pressure water gun to clean the cracks, removing dust and loose particles. Mix one kilogram of repair material with 0.25 to 0.3 kilograms of water to form a diluted mixture, and pour it along the cracks to the bottom to ensure that the repair material fully fills the cracks. After filling, use a trowel to smooth and finish the surface so that the repaired area is flush with the original roof surface. After repair, observe whether the cracks continue to expand. If new cracks appear or the original cracks widen, re-treat them and investigate structural issues.
