Canopy-type Mobile Toilet Installation

Admin October 06, 2026

The installation of canopy-type mobile toilets requires a rigorous process, mainly divided into three stages: pre-installation preparation, on-site installation, and post-installation finishing and debugging. The specific steps are as follows:

Pre-installation Preparation

  1. Site Survey
Determine the installation location in advance, ensuring the ground is flat and solid, away from main construction roads and pollution sources. It is recommended to be more than 1.5 meters away from the edge of the foundation pit to avoid construction impacts. At the same time, confirm that the site has sufficient space for vehicle access and lifting operations, with no overhead obstacles such as power lines or branches. Identify the reserved connection points for the septic tank or sewage pipes, freshwater supply points, and power access points, ensuring they match the toilet box interfaces.

  2. Material Verification
After receiving the equipment, check if the box is intact and if all accessories (such as door locks, flush valves, sewage pipes, etc.) are complete. If any damage is found, contact the supplier promptly for replacement to avoid hindering subsequent installation.

  3. Foundation Treatment
Based on the toilet type (single or connected), size, and geological conditions, clear ground debris and lay a gravel or concrete foundation, or place concrete piers or anti-corrosion load-bearing sleepers to ensure the load-bearing capacity meets standards (single-person toilets require ≥200kg/㎡). If the ground is a flat concrete surface with sufficient load-bearing capacity, the toilet can be placed directly, but a gap should be left between the toilet and the ground for ventilation and moisture prevention.

  4. Equipment and Personnel Preparation
Prepare tools such as cranes (or forklifts), wrenches, spirit levels, and electric drills, as well as connecting pipes like water pipes and corrugated pipes, and sealing materials. The installation team should consist of workers with mechanical operation certificates and electrician certificates to ensure safe and standardized operations.

  5. Box Transportation and Inspection
The custom-made toilet boxes are pre-assembled in the factory and then transported to the site. Before unloading, verify the model, appearance, and accessories to avoid transportation damage affecting use.

On-site Installation Steps

  1. Box Positioning
Use a forklift or crane to lift the box smoothly to the designated location, keeping it level to avoid tilting. After placement, use a spirit level to measure in multiple directions. If not level, adjust with steel plates.

  2. Drainage Connection
Connect the sewage pipe to the construction site drainage system or temporary collection pit, seal the interface with sealing tape or cement, and it is recommended to install an anti-backflow valve to prevent sewage backflow.

  3. Fixed Connection
After the box is level, secure it to ensure structural stability.

  4. Flush System Debugging
Connect the water supply and test the flush function, checking if the drainage pipes are unobstructed to avoid water accumulation.

Post-installation Finishing and Debugging

  1. Internal and External Inspection
Check if internal facilities (such as sinks and hooks) are secure and if the external sealing is good, ensuring no water leakage or air leakage. After cleaning and organizing, tighten all bolts and nuts to prevent loosening.

  2. Usage and Maintenance
Daily cleaning should be carried out by dedicated personnel, and consumables should be replenished regularly with disinfection. Monthly maintenance should include inspecting circuits, valves, and the flush system, and promptly reporting and repairing any faults. Safety signs should be set up around the toilet, keeping it away from flammable and explosive materials to ensure electrical safety.
