Can the Toilet Pipe Be Moved?
The toilet pipes can be moved, but the modification methods and restrictions vary for different parts and require careful operation.

Toilet Drain Pipe: If you need to move the toilet's position, you can use a toilet shifter for small-scale adjustments. For short-distance (within 40 cm) shifts, it is recommended to use a dedicated flat shifter or round pipe, maintaining a slope of 1%-2%. The moving distance should generally not exceed 15 cm, and直角 bends (right-angle bends) should be avoided as much as possible to reduce drainage resistance. If you need to completely change the toilet's position, you will need to drill a new hole in the floor. In this case, you must consult with the downstairs residents to confirm whether drilling is feasible. If conditions permit, use a core drill to create a hole with a diameter of 150 mm, then re-pipe and connect it to the original toilet drain pipe. This process involves modifying the floor structure, so construction safety must be ensured to avoid damaging the building's structure.
Sink Drain Pipe: Modifications are relatively flexible, and it can be changed to a wall-mounted drainage system. However, after changing to a wall-mounted system, a strainer with a filter must be installed, and the filter should be cleaned regularly to prevent blockages from debris.
Floor Drain Pipe: Small-scale shifts are possible, with the shifting distance generally not exceeding 30 cm. During the shifting process, the '30-5-2' principle must be followed: the shifting distance should not exceed 30 cm to ensure smooth drainage; the pipe slope should be maintained at a 5% incline to allow water to flow naturally to the drain; use a dedicated shifter with two 45-degree bends to reduce water flow resistance and lower the risk of blockages.
Main Sewer Pipe: Moving the main sewer pipe is generally not recommended, primarily due to safety and construction difficulty considerations. If modified, safety hazards increase, and future leakage problems may arise, making repairs quite troublesome. Moreover, pipe relocation is a complex project that may affect the overall structural stability of the building and may involve adjustments to other concealed works, increasing subsequent maintenance costs.
Modifying the bathroom's drainage pipes involves the stability of the drainage system and the safety of the building structure. Before making any modifications, it is advisable to consult with a professional plumber or decoration company to ensure that the construction plan is reasonable and feasible.
