Boxabl Prefabricated Modular House

Admin September 18, 2026

The Boxabl prefabricated modular house is a foldable, easily transportable modular home designed and manufactured by Boxabl Inc., featuring efficient construction, environmental sustainability, and flexible expansion capabilities.

Core Structure and Materials

The Boxabl house utilizes cutting-edge SIP (Structural Insulated Panel) technology for insulation, combined with magnesium oxide boards and TPO roofing materials, offering fire resistance, moisture resistance, durability, and energy efficiency. Its design complies with global building standards, with internal plumbing and electrical systems, as well as interior finishes, completed in the factory to ensure quality control. When unfolded, the floor plan measures 5.8 meters × 5.8 meters, with a ceiling height of 2.9 meters. For transportation, it folds to dimensions of 5.8 meters in length, 2.6 meters in width, and 3.8 meters in height, weighing approximately 5,900 kilograms, and can be towed by vehicles such as the Tesla Model X.

Functional Configuration and Smart Features

The interior is equipped with hidden furniture, a separate wet and dry bathroom, kitchen appliances, laundry facilities, and ample power outlets, allowing real-time energy monitoring and remote device control via the Tesla Home App. The roof can accommodate solar panels, paired with Tesla's Powerwall energy storage system, and is equipped with a rainwater collection and filtration system, enabling self-sufficiency in energy and eco-friendly water storage.

Modular Expansion and Flexibility

The Boxabl house supports modular expansion, allowing multiple units to be combined to accommodate family growth or emergency housing needs. Its foldable design significantly enhances transportation and assembly efficiency, with deployment taking only a few hours, drastically reducing traditional construction timelines.

Cost and Market Acceptance

The Casita cabin, promoted in collaboration with Elon Musk, has a base price of approximately $50,000, with its value rising to $69,000 after Musk's improvements. Its design philosophy stems from "manufacturing houses as efficiently as cars," reducing over 60% of construction waste through standardized production and lowering maintenance costs by 30%-50% compared to traditional homes. The product has passed U.S. HUD certification, and Boxabl Inc. has secured multiple rounds of financing due to surging market demand, with its valuation exceeding $1 billion. Currently, there are over 120,000 customers on the waiting list, with more than 5,000 having paid deposits, indicating strong market enthusiasm.
