Biodegradable Mobile Toilet Installation

Admin October 10, 2026

The installation of biodegradable mobile toilets requires special attention to space adaptation, functional connections, and system configuration. The specific steps and key points are as follows:

I. Space Adjustment and Toilet Positioning

Before installation, adjust the toilet position according to the reserved space in the vehicle model. For example, if the original toilet seat is too close to the rear wall, causing rotation obstruction, move the toilet 7-8 cm towards the front of the vehicle and add an aluminum decorative strip to the rear wall to make the toilet recess 2 cm, ensuring the toilet lid can open upright. If the toilet lid extends backward when opened, install a dedicated RV door hook or hanger to resolve the space conflict. Key Point: Before installation, confirm the space compatibility of the vehicle model to avoid obstruction of the toilet lid opening or compression of internal activity space.

II. Water and Electrical Connections

  1. Water Supply: If the toilet is equipped with a flushing function, connect cold and hot water pipes and reserve cold and hot water pipe connectors beside the toilet.
  2. Electrical Supply: Maintain a constant 12V power supply to ensure the negative pressure exhaust fan in the cabin operates at a low speed 24 hours a day (power consumption approximately 6W) to prevent odor backflow. During driving, the generator can automatically charge, eliminating the need for additional energy consumption.

III. Solid-Liquid Separation System Installation

Biodegradable toilets adopt a feces-urine separation design and require the installation of separate urine tanks and feces compartments:

  1. Urine Drainage: Urine is drained through the front tank into a dedicated urine box, which requires sacrificing about half of the space in the chassis storage box for placement.
  2. Feces Compartment Configuration: The feces compartment is equipped with a motorized stirring device and needs to be filled with a biodegradable substrate composed of bark, rice husks, wood chips, etc., and activated with dedicated bacterial powder for decomposition function.

IV. Exhaust System Configuration

Install a low-power fan in the cabin, which operates at high speed to remove odors during use and at low speed to maintain negative pressure when not in use. The exhaust vent emits only a faint odor similar to fertilizer, so ensure the airtightness of the exhaust duct.

V. Accessory and Material Preparation

  1. Core Materials: Fill the black water tank in the order of "bedding material → bacterial material → bedding material → clean water". Bedding materials can include rice husks, buckwheat husks, and poplar wood chips.
  2. Specialized Tools: Manufacturers usually provide a toilet brush and a small shovel for cleaning solidified waste.

VI. Cabin Door and External Decoration

If the toilet position adjustment requires enlarging the cabin door, replace it with a large-sized cabin door made of fiberglass sheet material to ensure normal insertion and removal of the toilet tank.

Precautions:

  • During daily use, the toilet lid must be fully closed and locked to prevent liquid leakage into the storage tank.
  • The maintenance cycle is approximately 3-4 weeks, during which bedding material needs to be replenished and the tank cleaned according to the frequency of use.
