Bazhong Homestay Container House

Admin September 15, 2026

There is relatively little information on container houses for homestays in Bazhong, but the local homestay development model can provide some reference for container house homestays.

Development Background and Objectives

The Fifth Plenary Session of the Fifth Bazhong Municipal Party Committee proposed the implementation of an integrated action plan for agriculture, commerce, culture, sports, and tourism, aiming to build a "Micang Homestay" accommodation cluster. With Micang Avenue as the main axis, five characteristic homestay clusters will be arranged in Guangwu Mountain, Guanba, Shenmen, Nuoshui River, and Kongshan. The plan is to newly build or renovate no less than 900 homestays, constructing a development pattern of "one axis, two wings, and five clusters." The goal is to revitalize idle rural assets, promote the integrated development of culture and tourism, address the issues of tourists "passing through quickly and not staying overnight," and reshape the cultural and tourism consumption landscape.

Development Initiatives

  • Precise Policies to Revitalize Idle Assets: Conduct a thorough inventory of 231 idle assets and establish a dynamic ledger. Implement precise policies on a case-by-case basis according to asset conditions. Assets with good locations and appearances will be upgraded into high-end homestays; distinctive old houses and ancient buildings will be cleverly integrated with Micang Ancient Road culture; scattered and inefficient assets will be uniformly collected and invested in by the acquisition center.
  • Innovative Asset Revitalization Models: Explore a model of "revitalizing existing assets + introducing new assets to the market," adhering to the principles of "not changing land use nature, not exceeding land use scope, and not harming farmers' rights and interests." Innovate the "123" asset revitalization system, relying on the Southwest United Exchange's "integrated platform" to achieve closed-loop management of idle assets; establish policy and resource "dual supermarkets" for precise matching; and set up acquisition, management, and service centers to advance case-by-case renovations and one-stop services.
  • Provide Policy Support: Introduce a "1 + 2 + 3" policy system and nine measures to support and reward the homestay industry, providing full-chain support in terms of land use, funding, operations, and incentives.

Development Achievements

As of August 2026, the cultural and tourism demonstration zone has newly built or renovated a total of 439 homestays, achieving tourism-related output value of nearly 80 million yuan and directly creating 1,300 jobs. More than 60 idle assets have been successfully revitalized, adding 3,586 new beds.

If developing container house homestays in Bazhong, one can refer to the above model for planning in terms of site selection, resource utilization, and policy alignment, while also leveraging the unique characteristics of container houses to create distinctive homestay products.
