Balcony, Toilet, and Bathroom Mobility
To achieve the “mobility” or repositioning of balconies, toilets, and bathrooms, the following methods can be employed, with the specific choice depending on functional requirements and spatial conditions:

1. Movable Suction Cup Racks: Flexible Adjustment of Local Function Positions
Suitable for balconies, kitchens, bathrooms, and other settings, these racks are fixed to smooth walls (such as tiles or glass) using vacuum suction cups, eliminating the need for drilling or adhesive. They can be easily disassembled and repositioned as needed. Common applications include hanging bathing supplies in the shower area, storing grooming tools beside the sink, or hanging cleaning tools on the balcony. Their advantages include wall-friendly installation and low cost (approximately 10-50 yuan per unit), but they have limited weight capacity (usually not exceeding 5kg), making them suitable for temporary or frequent adjustments of lightweight items.
2. Mobile Shower Units/Toilets: Modular Relocation of Entire Functions
For outdoor or temporary settings, mobile products integrating shower and toilet functions are available, such as eco-friendly mobile toilets and specialized equipment for construction sites or scenic spots. These products are made of steel structures or plastics, equipped with built-in water tanks and sewage systems, with some supporting solar heating. Prices vary widely, ranging from 200 yuan for simple models to 3400 yuan for high-end versions. For household use, customized smaller versions can be considered, but drainage connection and ventilation design must be taken into account, and water and electricity connections need to be re-established after relocation. This option is suitable for scenarios that require long-term fixed placement but flexible deployment, such as villa gardens or basement renovations.
3. Bathroom Sliding Doors/Partitions: Dynamic Adjustment of Space Separation
By installing movable doors, dry and wet separation or area division can be achieved. Common types include:
- PVC Folding Doors: Lightweight and waterproof, with a low price (starting from 35 yuan), suitable for small spaces;
- Aluminum Alloy Hidden Sliding Doors: Good sealing performance, with a medium price range (200-800 yuan);
- Stainless Steel Sliding Shower Enclosures: Durable and rust-resistant, with a higher price (800-1399 yuan).
These solutions do not change the position of functional areas but adjust spatial permeability through door opening and closing. The installation position of tracks needs to be planned in advance, making them suitable for optimizing the internal layout of bathrooms.
4. External Sink Design: Complete Reconfiguration of Functional Area Positions
Relocating the sink from the bathroom to the balcony requires addressing three technical issues:
- Drainage: The balcony needs to have pre-installed drainage pipes or use a sewage lift pump;
- Waterproofing: Apply waterproof coating up to 1.8 meters high on the walls and create a slope on the floor to direct water to the drain;
- Materials: Choose moisture-resistant tiles or stones to avoid decay of wooden materials.
Additionally, it is recommended to install a water baffle (height 5-10cm) and a glass partition to prevent water splashes. This solution is suitable for families with small bathroom areas and ample balcony space, significantly improving usage efficiency, but the renovation cost is relatively high (approximately 2000-5000 yuan, including plumbing and electrical work).
