Assembly of Simple Portable Toilet

There are mainly two methods for assembling a simple portable toilet, which can be chosen according to materials and needs:

1. Using a Water Storage Barrel

1. Basic Structure Construction

   • Prepare a water storage barrel and split it in half with an angle grinder. Take one half as the main body. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board for easy mobility.
   • Fix wooden strips and self-tapping screws on the upper side of the barrel to increase the height to an appropriate range (e.g., 1.8-2 meters). Cut a doorway on the side of the water storage barrel, install sponge strips on both sides to form a door frame, and embed plastic soft boards as walls.
   • Invert the upper half of the water storage barrel onto the top of the wooden strips as a roof and apply white waterproof paint to enhance aesthetics. Use foam strips to拼接 (join) discarded honeycomb wooden boards to make a simple door and drill holes in the door to install connectors for connecting hoses.

2. Functional System Installation

   • Drainage System: Drill a hole at the bottom of the barrel and install a drain pipe as a floor drain. Drill holes on the side and bottom to connect direct fittings and attach a plastic bucket as a small water storage device.
   • Bathing System: Connect a water pipe-made bath heater to the power supply and install a three-way fitting below the inlet pipe and connect it to a showerhead.
   • Toilet System: Place the toilet on the drain pipe hole, install a water tank, and fix it with glass glue. Connect the drain pipe to a sewage bucket and extend a three-way fitting horizontally to the doorway as the inlet pipe for a hand-washing basin.

2. Using a Water Storage Tank and a Pallet

1. Mobility and Main Structure

   • Fix universal wheels at the four corners of the bottom of a pallet and place a water storage tank recovered from a garbage station on it. Use an angle grinder to cut along the top marking line to remove the tank top and form an open tank body.
   • Invert and stack two open tank bodies and fix the outer frame with self-tapping screws. Cut the outer frame and tank body to form a rectangular doorway with a height of 180 cm and a width of 50 cm.

2. Internal Facility Installation

   • Drainage System: Drill a hole in the ground inside the tank body, insert an elbow and connect it to a water pipe. Seal the gaps with glue and cut off the excess part. Place the toilet对准 (at) the drain hole and fix it with glue.
   • Washing System: Fix a water pipe on the wall with clips and install a faucet. Fix a pipe cap with screws below and connect a water pipe to make a hole as a drain pipe outlet. Apply glass glue to the pipe cap and fix a stainless-steel basin as a hand-washing basin.
   • Other Facilities: Connect the inlet pipe of the toilet water tank, the shower hose, and install a bracket. Install a toilet seat and a water pipe spray-type showerhead. Use wooden boards and hinges to make a door and install a door handle.

Precautions:

• Wear protective equipment (such as goggles and gloves) during the production process to avoid the risks of angle grinder operation.
• Ensure the tightness of drain pipe connections to prevent leakage.
• Material selection can be adapted to local conditions, but the structural stability must be guaranteed (e.g., the water storage barrel/tank should be intact).
