Assembly of Mobile Housing Containers

Admin September 15, 2026

The assembly of mobile housing containers should be carried out according to standardized procedures based on different types (such as standard container-style, foldable, and packing-box types), involving key steps such as structural inspection, lifting, splicing, fixation, and waterproofing.

I. Assembly of Standard Container-Style Office Buildings

Using 20-foot or 40-foot standard containers as carriers, they are transformed into independent office units. Structural stability must be ensured during assembly:

  1. Foundation Treatment: Level the ground and embed drainage pipes to prevent water accumulation or tilting; for long-term outdoor use, pour concrete piers to reinforce the bottom.
  2. Lifting and Splicing: Single containers can be directly lifted to the designated location. For splicing multiple containers, use angle steel gusset plates and bolts to fix the upper and lower container bodies, ensuring tight connection nodes.
  3. Functional Expansion: Expandable containers require the installation of side or end expansion modules. After expansion, the usable area can increase by 30%-50%. The sealing and stability of the expanded structure must be checked.

II. Assembly of Foldable Container Mobile Homes

Foldable containers achieve rapid expansion through hydraulic or manual structures, suitable for emergency scenarios:

  1. Pre-Expansion Inspection: Confirm the stability of steel wire ropes. After lifting the main frame, expand it smoothly and place support rods in the middle to maintain stability.
  2. Wall Installation: Push open the walls with doors and windows and ordinary walls in sequence, and fix them with tightening screws; the expansion time can be controlled within 5-10 minutes (for example, the product from Suzhou Zhongnan using a hydraulic structure only takes 5 minutes).
  3. Waterproofing: Apply glass curtain wall waterproofing adhesive at the joints of wall panels and roof panels to prevent rainwater leakage.

III. Installation of Packing-Box Containers

Packing-box containers adopt a factory-prefabricated + on-site assembly model, suitable for multi-story buildings:

  1. Module Splicing: Using a single container body as a unit, connect the ground system, floor system, and roof system with bolts; four workers can complete the installation of a single container in 3 hours.
  2. Personalized Adjustment: Stack and combine container bodies according to needs, and add decorative roofs or terraces; the base can be adjusted to adapt to different ground conditions.
  3. Corrosion Protection: The steel structure adopts galvanizing technology, and the outer walls are sprayed with anti-corrosion paint, with a service life of more than 30 years.

IV. General Safety Specifications

  1. Structural Safety: Check the wall thickness of the steel columns and bottom beams (1.5-3 mm) to ensure load-bearing capacity; for welded container bodies, verify the weld quality, and for bolt-connected container bodies, confirm the tightness of the connection nodes.
  2. Operational Safety: Non-professionals should stay away from the lifting area and avoid staying under the container bodies or cranes.
  3. Fire Protection Requirements: Equip with fire extinguishing equipment according to regulations, and use rock wool and other flame-retardant materials for walls and roofs.
