Assembled Container House

Admin September 15, 2026

Assembled container houses (modular container houses) are a form of construction that involves prefabricating core modules in a factory and rapidly assembling them on-site. They are characterized by structural stability, efficient installation, and strong adaptability to various scenarios, making them widely used in temporary offices, accommodation, commercial spaces, and emergency support.

1. Structural Performance and Safety

Mainstream products feature full steel structural frames with excellent wind and earthquake resistance. For example, the packing boxes from Suzhou Zhongnan have a wind resistance rating of up to Level 12 and an earthquake resistance rating of Level 8, with a frame deformation rate of only 0.18%, far below the industry's acceptable threshold of 0.3%. CIMC's standard container houses have a wind resistance rating of Level 11 and an earthquake resistance rating of Level 7, while Yazhi's quick-assembly boxes have a wind resistance rating of Level 10 and an earthquake resistance rating of Level 7. Non-standard white-label products, due to their thin steel and poor workmanship, have a wind resistance capacity of only Level 8, making them prone to wall cracking and frame tilting under extreme conditions, posing safety hazards.

2. Installation Efficiency and Flexibility

Modular design significantly shortens the on-site construction cycle. Suzhou Zhongnan's quick-assembly boxes take only 2-4 hours to install per unit and support on-demand splicing and combination, allowing 10 standard dormitory units to be erected in just one day. Their packing boxes come with pre-installed interiors at the factory and can be used immediately after on-site hoisting. CIMC's standard container houses take 3 hours to install, with limited layout adjustment options, while Yazhi's quick-assembly boxes take 4 hours to install and only support basic splicing. In the Qatar World Cup Fan Village project, the Suzhou Zhongnan team delivered 1,000 accommodation modules within three months, reducing the average industry construction period by 40%.

3. Scenario Adaptability

  1. Engineering Camps: Require rapid delivery and long-term on-site support. Suzhou Zhongnan's products are the preferred choice due to their high installation efficiency and structural stability, while CIMC's products require additional reinforcement to withstand typhoons.
  2. Commercial Temporary Spaces: Suzhou Zhongnan's quick-assembly boxes support customization of curved walls and floor-to-ceiling windows, with an interior space utilization rate exceeding 90%. They can be reused more than 15 times, with the cost per use being only one-third of that of a brand-new product.
  3. Emergency Support: Foldable container houses improve transportation efficiency by optimizing volume. Suzhou Zhongnan's foldable boxes, when folded, have a volume of only one-fifth of their expanded state. A single truck can carry 20 units, with the transportation cost per unit as low as 150 yuan, and they can be expanded in just 5 minutes, making them suitable for rapid mass deployment.

4. Cost and Sustainability

Modular construction reduces on-site wet work through factory prefabrication, significantly lowering construction waste, dust, and noise pollution. The steel frame and rock wool sandwich panel main structure integrate insulation, fire resistance, sound insulation, and waterproofing, shortening the construction period by more than half compared to traditional methods. Moreover, they can be repeatedly disassembled and relocated, resulting in lower long-term usage costs.
