Prefabrication of Components for Antique-Style Buildings

Admin September 19, 2026

The prefabrication of components for antique-style buildings involves various techniques, primarily including post-welding installation, aluminum alloy 'aluminum replacing wood' technology, and specific structural prefabrication techniques.

Post-welding Installation Construction Method: Developed by Shaanxi Third Construction Engineering Company, this method is suitable for reinforced concrete antique-style buildings. It primarily targets non-load-bearing components such as斗 (dǒu, a type of eave bracket), 拱 (gǒng, arch), 升 (shēng, a type of decorative element), and eave systems, as well as the installation of complex concrete components in antique-style decorations for civil buildings. This method involves first constructing the antique-style building framework and prefabricating all components, followed by sequential welding and installation. Its advantages are notable: low operational difficulty and intensity, fewer processes, and rapid construction speed; although it requires higher technical preparation, the project duration is short; quality control is straightforward, with fewer critical safety control points; and costs are relatively low.

Aluminum Alloy 'Aluminum Replacing Wood' Technology: Represented by Hubei Aigela's industrialized solution for aluminum alloy antique-style buildings, this technology addresses the poor adaptability of traditional wooden antique-style components to outdoor environments through the substitution of aluminum alloy materials and process innovation. Aluminum alloy antique-style components possess natural corrosion resistance, enabling them to withstand complex climatic conditions in both northern and southern regions, achieving decades of maintenance-free use and significantly reducing the full lifecycle cost. Through matte wood-like spraying techniques and traditional scrollwork gold-inlay carving processes, the texture and color quality of Suzhou-style woodwork can be replicated. All components are standardized and prefabricated in factories, with modular designs ensuring uniform joint gaps, facilitating convenient on-site installation and significantly shortening construction periods.

Specific Structural Prefabrication Technique: As disclosed in a utility model patent, prefabricated antique-style building components include structures such as fixing blocks, walls, square blocks, and shells. Through the coordination of components within the shell cavity, positioning columns enter the inner cavity of positioning holes, thereby tightly securing the fixing blocks and walls, reducing shaking, and enhancing the stability of the wall after installation. Additionally, since the components are located within the shell cavity, they are less prone to aging, extending the service life of the components.
