Anci District Container Houses

Admin September 15, 2026

Container houses exist in Anci District, with wide applications but posing fire safety hazards, necessitating safety measures to ensure safe use.

Application of Container Houses in Anci District

There are application examples of container houses in Anci District. On March 2, 2020, a fire broke out in two container-modified houses in the industrial park of Anci District, indicating that container houses are used as housing in Anci District. In addition, due to their eco-friendliness, energy efficiency, flexible combination, and ease of disassembly and transportation, container houses are commonly used as workers' dormitories on construction sites. They are also sometimes used as field operation houses, office buildings, temporary buildings at tourist attractions, and even rental houses. These uses may also exist in Anci District.

Fire Hazards of Container Houses

  • Illegal construction materials: To save costs, some container houses use flammable materials such as polystyrene and polyurethane foam for the core materials. These materials have poor fire resistance and safety, and can be ignited by electrical welding sparks and cigarette butts.
  • Rapid combustion: Once flammable and combustible sandwich materials catch fire, they melt and deform at 80℃, causing more severe combustion, and the combustion products are highly toxic.
  • Difficult firefighting: After a fire breaks out, the flames spread rapidly, and collapse accidents can easily occur in a short time. The collapsed container houses are wrapped in iron sheets, making it difficult for firefighting water cannons to shoot water inside, increasing the difficulty of firefighting and rescue work.
  • Difficult escape for trapped people: Both polystyrene and polyurethane produce black smoke when burning, and toxic smoke accumulates inside the room, making it difficult for trapped people to escape and prone to casualties.

Measures to Ensure Fire Safety of Container Houses

  • Use qualified fillers: It is best to use rock wool boards or fireproof cotton as fillers for production, achieving an A-grade fire resistance limit or above to meet fire safety conditions.
  • Standardize the use of heat and fire sources: During use, heat and fire sources should not be placed close to container houses, and a certain distance should be maintained for open flame operations.
  • Protect wires and cables: Wires and cables should be protected with sleeves, and sockets and switch boxes should be made of metal galvanized boxes and installed in an exposed manner. Simple firefighting equipment should be provided inside and outside.
  • Maintain a safe distance: A safe distance of at least 6 meters should be maintained between container houses.
