American Prefabricated House Circuit System

Admin September 18, 2026

The UL E-House prefabricated power module, compliant with American standards, is the core solution for the circuit system of American prefabricated houses. It achieves efficient and reliable power supply through modular design and strictly adheres to Underwriters Laboratories (UL) standards to ensure safety and flexibility.

I. Core Classifications and Characteristics of E-House

  1. Container-based Solutions: Designed based on standard shipping containers, they support customized dimensions (such as standard ISO containers or non-standard sizes) and utilize fully welded or painted steel structures. They are suitable for cable entry from the bottom or side and can be combined through module assembly to meet varying scale requirements.
  2. Modular Design Solutions: Tailored according to the layout and dimensions of the E-House, they employ modular cutting designs to accommodate transportation constraints. On-site assembly forms a complete layout, balancing flexibility and transportation convenience.
  3. Single Large-scale Structures: Achieved through a single steel structural frame for large-scale design, eliminating the need for on-site assembly. However, transportation logistics' maximum size limitations must be confirmed in advance, making them suitable for scenarios requiring high spatial continuity.

II. Key Design Considerations

  1. Structural Design: Based on internal equipment requirements, space layout is optimized while considering seismic resistance and deformation prevention for long-distance transportation to ensure compatibility of modular components.
  2. Grounding System: A combined grounding approach is adopted, with a main grounding bar installed to achieve equipotential bonding of equipment inside the enclosure. Contact voltage and step voltage are rigorously verified to ensure lightning protection and electrical safety.
  3. Internal Arc Resistance Measures: Dedicated arc venting channels are installed at the top of switchgear cabinets,联动 (interlocked) with venting ports of each cabinet to ensure directional pressure release during faults, preventing injury to operation and maintenance personnel.
  4. Corrosion Protection and Sealing: Multiple corrosion protection processes (such as zinc coating and surface treatment) extend service life. The enclosure has an IP54 or higher protection rating and is equipped with a slightly positive pressure system (air conditioning or fans) and multi-layer filtration to prevent moisture and dust intrusion.

III. Residential Power Supply Circuit Specifications

  1. Voltage Allocation: Small loads like lighting fixtures use 120V, while high-power appliances such as washing machines and dust removal equipment use 240V, balancing efficiency and safety.
  2. Protection Technologies: Areas like kitchens and laundry rooms must meet both GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) and AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) requirements. The 2014 NEC code mandates the use of DFCI circuit breakers (integrated dual protection).
  3. Wiring Methods: NM Cable (Romex wiring) is used in most indoor areas, consisting of a "hot" wire, neutral wire, and ground wire. Conductors are independently insulated and wrapped in PVC plastic, eliminating the need for conduit and simplifying the construction process.

The E-House solution has become the mainstream choice for American prefabricated house circuit systems through standardized design and strict safety specifications. Its modular characteristics significantly shorten the project cycle and reduce project risks.
