American Container House Diagram
There are various types of container houses in the United States. Here are some typical cases and their characteristics:

Carol House in New York, USA
Located in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York, it was designed by the architectural firm LOT-EK in collaboration with C-Home. The house is constructed by stacking 15 containers, creating a living area of 5,000 square feet on a 2,500-square-foot corner lot. The tops and bottoms of the containers are beveled, forming a unique silhouette that echoes industrial history while providing privacy. The interior design is distinctive, featuring ceiling windows, exposed plywood walls, and suspended steel stairs. The functional layout is well-organized, including an open-plan living room, five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a study, a home theater, and a luxurious basement. The master bedroom suite on the top floor is equipped with an indoor bathtub and a walk-in closet, along with a 2,500-square-foot outdoor terrace.
C-Home Single-Family Residence
Located in Claverack, USA, it combines six containers into a two-story structure, creating 178 square meters of living space. The ground floor serves as a public area, including a living room, kitchen, and dining room; the second floor features two bedroom suites with bathrooms and walk-in closets, topped with a terrace. The most notable feature is the large parallelogram glass walls that provide natural light and cross-ventilation.
Joshua Tree Residence
Located in California, USA, designed by James Whitaker. The residence is planned to cover 200 square meters, with several containers combined to form a starburst-shaped exterior. Each container is oriented to maximize landscape views or utilize the terrain for privacy. Inside, there are three bedrooms, a kitchen, and a spacious living room. The roof is equipped with solar panels for power, and square windows offer a surreal visual experience.
Geneseo Inn Container Hotel
Located in Paso Robles, California, USA, it is situated in a 145-acre vineyard and includes eight guest room units and a reception area. Each container module is elevated off the ground with an independent outdoor platform. The interior is modern and minimalist, with 12-foot-high skylights providing natural ventilation and ample lighting.
