Agricultural Mobile Toilet Construction

Admin September 24, 2026

The construction of agricultural mobile toilets should be carried out in accordance with the actual needs and regulatory requirements of rural areas, covering aspects such as design, construction preparation, construction process, quality acceptance, and post-maintenance. The specific key points are as follows:

I. Design Requirements

  1. Adaptation to Local Conditions: The main structure adopts a modular design, with a single toilet area of ≥1.2 square meters and a height of 2.2-2.5 meters. In northern regions, additional wall insulation layers and freeze-resistant septic tanks are required.
  2. Functional Zoning: The toilet area is equipped with a water-saving squat toilet (flush volume ≤6 liters per use), the washing area integrates a sink and a water storage tank, and the management area is equipped with a ventilation device (air exchange ≥8 times per hour).
  3. Material Selection: The main frame uses hot-dip galvanized square steel (40×40×2mm), the walls use lightweight composite wall panels (B1 fire rating), and the floor is paved with anti-slip tiles (slope of 1%-3%). In northern regions, the septic tank volume is ≥2.1 cubic meters, using fiberglass or PE materials.

II. Construction Preparation

  1. Technical Preparation: Organize training to familiarize with the 'Technical Specification for the Construction of Three-Compartment Toilets in Rural Areas' (GB/T 38836). Develop a foundation plan based on geological conditions and draw construction drawings.
  2. Materials and Equipment: Prepare hot-dip galvanized square steel, C25 concrete, water-saving squat toilets, etc. In northern regions, add insulation materials, freeze-resistant septic tanks, and vacuum pumps. Tools include total stations, welding machines, etc.
  3. Site Preparation: Clear the site, excavate temporary drainage ditches (300×400mm) and collection wells (diameter 500mm, depth 800mm). Connect a 380V power supply and construction water (pressure ≥0.2MPa).

III. Construction Process

  1. Foundation Construction: After setting out and positioning, excavate the foundation pit (2.5m×1.8m×1.2m). In northern regions, excavate below the frost line. Lay a graded gravel cushion (compaction coefficient ≥0.93) and bind a steel reinforcement mesh (Φ12mm, spacing 200mm).
  2. Main Structure Installation: Modularly assemble the base frame, walls, and roof, and seal the connections. Ensure a floor slope of 1%-3% for drainage.
  3. Sewage System: Install the septic tank and connect the sewage pipes, covering the top with 30cm of soil. The exhaust pipe (UPVC, outer diameter ≥160mm) should be ≥1 meter above the eaves.
  4. Water and Electricity Systems: Use pressure tanks or elevated water tanks for water supply (wrapped with insulation cotton in northern regions), and bury drainage pipes below the frost line. Protect circuits with PVC pipes and ensure a grounding resistance ≤4Ω.

IV. Quality Acceptance

  1. Structural Safety: Wind resistance rating ≥8, floor bearing capacity ≥200kg/m².
  2. Hygiene Performance: The water level in the septic tank should not drop by more than 10mm after 24 hours of water injection, and the odor concentration at the exhaust port should be ≤10 (dimensionless).
  3. Usability: The flushing device should use ≤3 liters of water per use, doors and windows should open flexibly, and the ventilation window area should be ≥1/20 of the floor area.

V. Post-Maintenance
The septic tank should be cleaned every 3-6 months, biological degradation toilets should have bacteriological agents added monthly, and vacuum toilets should have their vacuum pumps inspected weekly. Establish a three-level inspection mechanism at the county, street, and village levels to ensure the long-term operation of the facilities.
