A Captivating Experience: Exploring Container Architecture Hidden in the City
Converted shipping-container buildings are everywhere—homes, shops, entertainment venues, and offices keep springing up. Below, we take you through a creative park filled with container architecture inside West Lake Park in Nancheng District, Dongguan. It sits on open ground at the foot of a hill, surrounded by lush woods and a beautiful setting.

The ground floor is mainly a cafe. The recessed space in front of the containers is used as a semi-outdoor cafe area. With a traditional arcade-style design, the eaves give people a cool place to rest in the shade.

Stairs lead up to the second and third floors. The second floor serves as the main office area; floor-to-ceiling glass on the north and south sides lets people enjoy the views.

Container architecture is still a very young branch of the building field and can be applied to many building types. Designing and fitting out containers is also something many designers are eager to do.
