62 Container House Sizes

Admin September 15, 2026

The term '62 container house' is not a standard size description. Common container house sizes mainly include 6 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in height, with various other specifications also available. Details are as follows:

I. Common Standard Sizes

  1. Length: 6 meters, Width: 3 meters, Height: 2.8 meters
    This is the most common standard container house size on the market. The external dimensions are 6058×2438×2591mm (20-foot standard container), and the internal clear dimensions are approximately 5867×2330×2350mm. With an area of 18 square meters, it can accommodate 6 bunk beds, meeting the living needs of 8 people while leaving extra space for activities. This size is widely used in construction site dormitories, temporary housing for road construction, and shops. Due to its modular design, it is easy to transport and assemble, and can be extended into 40-foot, 60-foot, or other combined spaces through vertical or horizontal assembly.

  2. Length: 3 meters, Width: 3 meters, Height: 2.8 meters
    This small container house has an area of only 9 square meters and is mostly used for construction site guardrooms, item warehouses, or single-person living scenarios. Since such a small size leads to lower material utilization, it is usually only custom-produced when customers have special requirements.

II. Special-Purpose Sizes

  1. Length: 7 meters, Width: 3 meters, Height: 2.8 meters
    This container house has an area of 21 square meters and is often used as a two-story mobile house. By adding corridors and balconies, the space utilization rate is improved, making it suitable for construction site dormitories or office scenarios that require hierarchical management.

  2. Sizes of Modified Ocean Shipping Standard Containers

    • 20-foot Open-Top Container: Internal dimensions are 5.89×2.32×2.31 meters, with an open top design for easy lifting of large equipment.
    • 40-foot High-Cube Container: Internal dimensions are 11.8×2.13×2.72 meters, with an increased height of 30 centimeters, suitable for storing light and bulky goods or scenarios requiring vertical space.
    • 45-foot High-Cube Container: Internal dimensions are 13.58×2.34×2.71 meters, specially designed for large-volume, low-density goods on specific routes to Europe and the United States.

III. Customized Sizes

According to customer needs, the length, width, and height parameters of container houses can be flexibly adjusted. For example:

  • Width options: 2.5 meters, 2.55 meters, 3 meters, 4 meters, etc.;
  • Height options: 2.6 meters, 2.7 meters, 2.8 meters, 2.9 meters, etc.;
  • Special designs: including adjustments to the positions of doors and windows, installation of internal partitions, and customization of appearance and decoration.
